NA1
Redbud NA1 is a compact, cartridge-based automated nucleic-acid extraction platform that uses microfluidics and magnetic-bead chemistry to deliver qPCR/NGS-ready RNA/DNA with almost no hands-on time. You load the sample, insert the sealed cartridge, and press start; a full run takes ~30 minutes and elutes into snap-off tube strips. Evaluations show highly linear extractions (r² ≈ 0.99) with very low variability (<2% CV) across lanes and cartridges, and it works in high-containment settings (fits inside a BSL-3 biosafety cabinet). The small, ~1-ft³ (~30 cm per side), ~9 kg instrument is self-installable in minutes and scales by simply adding units. Chemistry: sealed microfluidic cartridge with magnetic-bead lysis & purification; reduces ~15 contamination points vs manual prep. Throughput:8 samples per cartridge; kits contain 6 cartridges (48 reactions). Elution: into snap-off tube strips; typical volume ~26 µL (option for larger volumes forthcoming). Performance: extraction linearity r² ≥ 0.99; lane-to-lane ΔCt ≈ 0.02 (no systematic bias); <2% CV across cartridges. Compatibility: purified NA is qPCR and whole-genome/amplicon sequencing ready; complete genomes (>99%) demonstrated for RSV A and SARS-CoV-2 with >200,000× coverage. Deployment:self-install <5 min, minimal training; fits in biosafety cabinets; small footprint (~1 ft³) and ~20 lb (9 kg). Flexibility: run a few or many samples per day; scale by adding instruments without interrupting other workflows. Ops & logistics: subscription cartridge resupply available; no plate setup, buffers, or microplate queuing needed.Main features
